What is Surrogacy?
Surrogacy is an arrangement, supported by a legal agreement, whereby a woman agrees to delivery/ labour for another person or people, who will become the child’s parent(s) after birth. People may seek a surrogacy arrangement when couples partner cannot carry a pregnancy due to different medical reasons, when pregnancy risks are dangerous for the intended mother, or when a single man or a male couple wish to have a child.
Surrogacy could be arranged for the patients such as:
- Heterosexual couples
- Single Woman
- Single Man
- Same gender couples
The baby will be carried by the surrogate mother who will be the Gestational carrier.

The whole process goes the same as a normal IVF or donation, depending on the type of patient and procedure selected.
The genetics of the baby are the same of those of the parents not the surrogate mother, she will be only a carrier in this case, unless the baby will be created by a donor oocyte or donor sperm, in this case the genetics will come from the donors selected and approved by the patient.

- Woman who have not had miscarriages previously
- Woman who do not smoke or use drugs or consume alcohol
- Woman who had healthy births previously
- Woman who are psychologically healthy
- Woman who do not have chronic diseases
- Woman who are not married
The process starts by preparing all blood tests and needed check- ups for the the selected Surrogate mother. When everything has been arranged, the IVF treatment can start.
