Egg donation is recommended in the following cases:
- High risk of passing on genetic disease.
- Ovarian damage from illness or medical treatments.
- Poor egg quality discovered during IVF cycles.
- Premature menopause.
Stages of Egg Donation Treatment
Stage 1: Initial Contact and Planning
Once you contact us, a patient coordinator will provide a comprehensive overview of the process, discuss necessary tests, and understand your personal situation.
Stage 2: Donor Selection
An embryologist selects egg donors based on the couple’s preferences, including ethnicity, physical attributes, and blood group. Donors undergo comprehensive testing before final approval.
Stage 3: Synchronization and Preparation
The menstrual cycles of the donor and recipient are synchronized using medication. This preparation starts on the 2nd or 3rd day of their menstrual periods and lasts about 12 days.
Stage 4: Egg Collection and Fertilization
After approximately 12 days of preparation, the donor undergoes egg collection. Eggs are fertilized with the father’s sperm. Each donor provides eggs exclusively for one couple, ensuring at least 10 healthy, mature eggs. The embryos develop in our laboratory incubators. The recipient’s endometrium is prepared simultaneously for pregnancy.
Stage 5: Embryo Transfer
Embryo transfer occurs on the 3rd or 5th day after fertilization. The best embryos are transferred to the mother in a painless procedure guided by ultrasound for optimal placement. The recipient rests for a while after the transfer to ensure the best chances of implantation.
